Information we collect
Enquiry forms. When you use one of the enquiry forms on our website, we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number and the details you give us about your project or message.
Emails, calls and projects. If you contact us directly or we carry out work for you, we keep the details needed to quote for, plan, carry out and invoice the work, such as your name, contact details, the address of the property and notes about the project.
Website information. When you visit our website, our website provider may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. Some of this is collected using cookies, as explained below.
How we use your information
to reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote, because you have asked us to before entering into a contract
to plan, carry out and invoice building work, because this is needed to perform our contract with you
to keep business, tax and accounting records, because we are legally required to
to keep our website secure and protect our forms from spam, which is in our legitimate interests
to understand how our website is used, but only if you agree to analytics cookies
We do not sell your personal information or use it for marketing emails.
How our enquiry forms work
When you submit a form, your details are stored securely in our Squarespace account and a copy is emailed to our business inbox (d.cattbuilders@gmail.com), which is provided by Google. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to check that submissions come from real people, and Google may collect information about your device and how you use the form to do this.
Who we share your information with
We only share your information with providers that help us run our business: Squarespace, which hosts our website and stores form submissions; Google, which provides our email and the reCAPTCHA spam protection; and our accountant. We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC. If a project needs a specialist supplier or subcontractor, we only share the details they need to do their part of the work.
Some of these providers store information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where they do, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved data transfer agreements.
How long we keep your information
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once they are no longer needed. Records relating to work we have carried out are kept for as long as tax, accounting and legal requirements make necessary.

Advertising cookies are not used on our website. This option stays off unless you switch it on.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the website may not work properly if you do. For a full list of the cookies our website provider may use, see Squarespace’s guidance at support.squarespace.com.
